Waiting in Earnest

I've been waiting in earnest
Since daybreak today
to see you
Last night I was sleepless
like the nights before
Anxiously waiting
to see you
I ask myself why
I have this yearning
to see you
I dream
About the things I want to say
I think
About the things we will do
I smile
When I turn my thoughts
to the laughs that we will share
I sigh
With just the thought
That I would get
To see you
